About Me
Hello! My name is Katie, and I am a UI designer with a Master’s degree in Computer Game Design. I have a strong passion for designing user interfaces across a wide range of game genres, from mobile games to RPGs. I thrive on challenges and am open to receiving constructive feedback, as I view it as an opportunity for growth. Continuously striving to enhance my skills, I stay current with the latest trends in UI design. Should you have any inquiries, please feel free to contact me!

My Pipeline
I'm always learning and refining my skills. This is my current pipeline and what I find works best for me currently.

Research
When starting any project, I ensure to conduct thorough research into similar user interfaces, design themes, and concepts of comparable games. I believe this research is crucial for establishing a strong foundation, and it has become an integral part of my approach.

Design
After completing my research, I utilise it to begin my design pipeline. This process includes the creation of mood boards, the application of colour theory and palettes, with considerations for accessibility (such as colour blindness and dyslexia), and the development of wireframe mock-ups.

Prototype
Drawing from my design pipeline, I develop prototypes directly within the engine. I am highly proficient in Unreal Engine’s UMG, enabling me to efficiently create and implement UI elements. In addition, I am committed to enhancing my skill set by dedicating time to learning other game engines, ensuring that I remain versatile and adaptable in my work.

User Test
Once I have a prototype ready for testing, I invite participants to evaluate my UI. This step is crucial, as it allows me to identify any bugs or design inconsistences. I believe it is essential to have others review my work, as they are often able to spot issues that I may have overlooked.
