This project was part of a Game Feel and Polish module for my master’s degree, focusing on creating a polished project rather than a prototype. I chose to make a UI-based visual novel and put a strong emphasis on UI polish. I really enjoyed refining the UI to a high standard.

Wireframe Design

This project had many wireframes as it was UI-based. I initially looked at games like Doki Doki Literature Club and Corpse Party for horror narrative inspiration, but chose a simpler style while still drawing from them. Initially intended as a menu system with no gameplay, I eventually decided to create a full narrative/game using only UI. I also found an artist, NoranekoGames on X (Twitter) and Itch.io, who created characters and backgrounds for Visual Novels. They kindly allowed me to use their art in my project.
